White Bear Lake is the most remote lake in the Sierra Nevada. Sitting just above 12,000 feet, this pristine body of water can only be reached with several days of trekking cross-country over extremely rough terrain on the Sierra High Route. It is a place that defies imagination. For me it serves as a perfect example of the beauty that is found in our wide open spaces. It is also a reminder of how important it is to protect and preserve this beautiful world that we live in.
